So, I am finally taking a stab at posting to Carson’s blog (after much nudging from Jason). There's a lot of pressure here since everyone loves Jason's posts (he is much funnier than I am) - but I thought I'd give it a shot. Today has marked a pretty large milestone for us, Carson finally has made it to his due date. The last 10 weeks have thrown pretty much every emotion our way. You never know how you'll respond to such a crazy situation until it happens - your baby being born at 2 lbs 10 ozs and 10 weeks early, your dr’s telling you that you almost died as a result, not being able to bring your baby home for 5 weeks, and once your baby gets out he gets sick and winds up back in the hospital – not so fun. What I've come away with, is this feeling of being incredibly blessed. I feel blessed to have such a strong and resilient baby, and to have the most amazing family and friends a person could ever hope for, and to have Jason - who is the most patient and calm man - standing beside me the whole time. I guess this blog allows me to now say thank you to everyone for being there, flying in from out of state, calling, emailing, sending well wishes, praying for us, coming by the hospital, and even reading this blog. Carson doesn’t know yet how many people love him, but I definitely do. So thank you everyone for being there.
So, enough sappy emotional stuff…
Since it’s been a few days since Jason’s last post, I’ll fill you in on the details of the last five days. Friday marked our first trip away from the house for more than a few hours. We celebrated Carson’s first Chinese New Year over at Grandma and Grandpa Woo’s. Carson couldn’t express his excitement over the occasion but he had a really great time hanging with his Grandma and Grandpa. They definitely spoil him with lots of love (and not to mention Grandma’s amazing cooking for the big kids). He was pretty pooped from the busy day of trying to hold our head up for seconds on end and meeting all of Jason’s Mobile Complete co-workers. Saturday, we had more head-holding-up time and our Auntie Tara came over for a visit. Sunday, again, tummy time and a visit by Beth and Ryan. We even threw in some bath time (which he is starting to LOVE) a walk down Fillmore and some looking cute time. All in all, a jam-packed weekend for Carson.

Carson holding his head up - of course he wouldn't look at the camera too.

Bath time - he's happy as long as he's in the water

Having a "moment" with dad after the bath
And, if anyone's keeping track, the big guy is weighing in around 8 lbs 4 ozs. :)
