1307 and counting

It has been a 12 days since Carson was born and he has made great strides. He has been breathing room air for more than a week, taken off the IV and the blue lights, has increased his feeding, and now does not need the incubator for heat. And he has now graduated from a Level 3 patient to a Level 2 patient! It is amazing the little things that count. We also look forward to his nightly weigh in. As you know when Carson was born he weighed 2 pounds 1o ounces. Initially after being born all babies lose some weight so he did lose some weight, but I am happy to say he has now increased weight 4 consecutive days and is up to 1307 grams! Which equals 2 pounds 14 ounces! Funny thing these hospitals do in the US, they measure everything the wrong way, the metric system. This is probably to confuse us so we really do not know what they are talking about. As his temperature readings are also in celsius. Anyways it was a great Christmas for Carson as he got gifts from Santa and even one of the nurses. He is quite the favorite in the NICU. See for yourself in the photos, doesn't he look heavier? Hey he gained a 1/4 pound!
