Merry Christmas and happy new year

I'm feeling incredibly reflective this New Year's Eve. After a pretty much 'I can't take any more' 2011, 2012 was full of ups downs and miracles. Most notably the arrival of our amazing healthy happy baby girl Marlo Elisabeth. We are coming up to the 3 1/2 month mark and our little girl is not so little anymore. She's definitely over 15 lbs but we'll know for sure when we hit 4 months. She's so alert and already wanting to watch tv - NO!!!! She's sitting up in her bumbo, grasping toys in her hands. Smiling and giggling wildly. She is pure joy for me - especially now that she's also sleeping 10-11 hours a night. And even though she looks nothing like her mama at this point, I can't help but year up almost every time I hold her. It was such a long road to get here. And I'm so glad we made it.

And I'm also so amazed by my first baby - who just turned 5. He's becoming wise beyond his years which breaks my heart a little. He tells me regularly that he's not little anymore and he's starting kindergarten soon and he doesn't need me. But then thankfully 5 minutes later he's calling out for mom - and he "needs" me. I'm hoping he never stops needing me. A mom can dream.

And unfortunately I'm also reminded that my maternity leave is soon coming to an end...but I'll try to forget that one.

And on this new year eve, I'm not necessarily making resolutions but hopes for myself. I hope I can slow down and enjoy my family more - kids, hubby, parents, in laws, the whole lot. I feel like I'm constantly distracted and rarely enjoying. Also hoping to find time for me. Exercise diet maybe a mani pedi. And I'm hoping to chill out a bit too. Feeling a but high strung and would like to be a little nicer to those around me (ie Jason).

Hopefully that will all happen.

But, for now ill sit back, have a glass if rosé bubbly and reflect on the good times of 2012. Latest pics below.

Here's to a stellar 2013 everyone.
