And Marlo makes 4

Today marks one month since the arrival of our baby girl.  Marlo Elisabeth Woo joined us on September 18, 2012 at 1:59pm.  Weighing in at a perfect healthy weight of 7lbs, 15ozs, she's a far cry from the 2 lbs 10 ozs that was Carson when he was born. The journey of Marlo has been a long two years in the making.  And we feel so blessed to welcome a healthy full term baby.  I sit here today just thinking how incredibly lucky we are and I promise not to take this gift for granted.

Since we've been home, Carson has adjusted quite nicely into the role of big brother.  We have the occasional jealousy - primarily when he wants me to give him a bath or read a bedtime story and i'm nursing.  But, for the most part, Carson is the most proud and protective big brother to his sister.

I'm also beginning to see the similarities and differences between the two.  Physically, Marlo just weighed in today at a healthy 11 lbs 3 ozs and 22 3/4 inches in length - 95 % for both stats.  Carson has NEVER been that large.  As an infant he always hovered around 50% (after 9 months age that is).  And Marlo has the skin color of his Momma, super light white.  But with tons of dark hair, where Carson was pretty much bald until he was a year.  Marlo is also very acutely aware of her surroundings, having a "witching hour" from 5-10 pm every night (and making Mom and Dad a little nuts).  But, as we were reassured today, all totally normal for a 1 month old.

And as a Mommy, I'm feeling a bit different too.  This time around I'm attempting to breast feed (albeit with a formula chaser) and I'm not wanting to take the little lady out of my sight.  Given that I didn't get to take Carson home until he was 37 days old, and then he went back into the hospital for another week, I'm really being selfish with Marlo.  But I feel so lucky to have her by my side, I just want to enjoy every second.

We even had a little photo shoot, something we didn't do with Carson.  We have a couple preliminary shots below, and hope the rest are as good.

Hopefully I'll find the time to blog regularly again...I promise I'm going to try.

Marlo, just seconds old.  And I was thankfully awake for the whole thing.

Sound asleep - and totally has Daddy's mouth

I want to say she's happy, but she's getting ready to freak out wanting milk

Gotta have one of the boy
Not sure if you can tell, but right now, she has one brown eye and one blue eye.  Our pediatrician is thinking she may have hazel eyes.  Only time will tell.

Mom, don't wake me.  I'm so tired.
