I know, it's been ages since our last post. The biggest reason has been Jason getting a terrible cold and being out of commission for days. We were doing whatever we could to keep Carson and Jason separated so Carson wouldn't get sick again. Mission accomplished and the little guy managed to get through with no one than a little stuffy nose. He's quiet the trooper. Over the last week Carson has been quite busy making a few new friends. We've joined a playgroup which has gotten us both out of the house a ton and allowed us to meet a few great new friends. Carson is the only boy of the group, so we are working on the "ladies man" reputation early. His new friends Lila, Scarlett, Nina and Emma are super cool (and there mom's aren't half bad either). This group has been a god send to me as I'm still trying to get settled in a new city. The moms are SO NICE and welcoming. And it's such a relief that we are all going through our own challenges trying to figure out this "mom thing". We all balance baby, home, family friends and soon, work. I have a new appreciation for those moms that have come before me and I am still searching for my own style. I'm sure it will come with time, but as I'm not one for being patient, trying to figure it all out still remains challenging.
Chillin' with his ladies - Lila and Emma
But, the shining light is that everyday I get to hang with my little guy. Carson amazes me everyday. He's around 10 lobs (at least we think so) and he's learning new tricks everyday. His personality is totally developing and he's quite dramatic. I wonder where he gets that trait...(OK don't answer that). he's affectionately know around here as "the squeaker" for his hilarious noises that come with just about every activity. He also make the funniest facial expressions when he's trying to burp or poop. After which he has this calming smile to show "mission accomplished". I'm working on documenting this but it's kinda hard to do when I'm holding him at the same time. He also has a bunch of new toys courtesy of a recent baby shower. We've been playing up a storm and thanks go out to all the ladies who were in attendance. It was wonderful to see you all and I'm so glad you got to meet Carson (and yes, I promise, thank you's are coming soon).
