Moment of reflection

For some reason I've been feeling a bit more sentimental these days. Maybe it was having some one-on-one time with Carson over the last few weeks. Or maybe it is simply the new milestones he's hitting at record speed. Whatever it is, I've been in awe of our little man these days. It the simple things, like the fact that he now says "I love you" to Jason and me. The fact that he now eats with his fork and spoon with precision and purpose. The pureness of his soul that i see everyday in his kindness and generosity to his friends (and occasionally his parents).

Carson is becoming this big guy with words, thoughts, attitude, and kindness. He seems to be the only two year old who enjoys to share with his friends (as long as it's not his favorite shovel or hammer).

He has a smile and laugh of pure joy when he says a new word for the first time (like my current favorite booger). His learning is so crazy right now - he draws all the time, loves reading books, tests his skills of jumping by finding the next biggest object to leap off of - I could go on and on.

But lately I just look at him and couldn't be more proud. He is the happiest little boy, and I'm spoiled that i get to see him everyday. And today, he had a crazy Easter of church, party, lack of naps - and he just wanted his Mommy to hold him. It reminds me of when he was so tiny and I would snuggle after a feeding. Now, he's over 30 lbs, over 3 feet tall and can curl his legs around me. The image is a bit different, but it's every bit as heart melting for me.

My little guy is growing up so fast, but he'll always be my baby.
