Just shaking it!

Toddlers sometimes do the oddest things physically. Twisting, turning, stomping, lifting and shaking their body parts in all sorts of awkward positions and for no good reason. Carson is no exception and we have seen it all. But we were especially concerned for one of his behaviors, when he seemed to shake involuntarily. Allison and I could not figure it, but we were not concerned at first since we had seen his odd behaviors before and as far as we could tell he was not affected. As a concerned grandparent my Mom asked to have it checked out, so we planned to, but as luck would have it our nanny took this video, with her son encouraging Carson and as you can see he can shake it on command.

As you can see this was voluntary. And for those who are still concerned we ran it by our pediatrician and she had no concern. It does turn out that we think Carson learned this technique from drinking cold drinks, and he sometimes will shake when something it too cold. Carson will do anything for attention sometimes!
